By accessing our website, purchasing a story submission, or using any of our services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our website or services.

1. About Storey Wall

Storey Wall is an online platform where people can submit personal stories for publication on the Storey Wall.

A story submission costs £5 unless otherwise stated on the website.

After purchasing a submission, you can provide the information required to create your story. Once submitted, your story may be assigned a unique story number and displayed on the Storey Wall.

2. Eligibility

By using Storey Wall, you confirm that:

  • You are legally able to enter into an agreement with us.
  • The information you provide is accurate and complete.
  • You have the necessary rights and permissions to submit the content you provide.
  • You will use the website and services lawfully.

If you are submitting a story on behalf of another person, you must have their permission to do so.

3. Story Submissions

When you purchase a £5 story submission, you are purchasing a place on the Storey Wall for your submitted story, subject to these Terms.

You are responsible for checking your submission before sending it.

This includes checking:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your story category
  • Your story title
  • Your story content

Once submitted, your story may be published automatically.

4. Story Content

You remain responsible for the content you submit.

You must not submit content that:

  • Is unlawful or promotes illegal activity.
  • Threatens, harasses or abuses another person.
  • Contains hateful or discriminatory material.
  • Infringes another person's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.
  • Contains personal information about another person without appropriate permission.
  • Is deliberately misleading or fraudulent.
  • Contains malicious software, links or other harmful material.
  • Contains obscene or otherwise inappropriate material.

You should avoid including sensitive personal information such as home addresses, telephone numbers, financial information, passwords or other information that could put you or another person at risk.

5. Permission to Display Your Story

By submitting a story, you give Storey Wall permission to display, reproduce and make your submitted story available through the Storey Wall website and related Storey Wall promotional materials.

This permission allows us to operate, promote and maintain the Storey Wall.

You retain ownership of any original content you submit unless you have separately agreed otherwise.

6. Story Numbers

Each submitted story may be given a unique story number.

Story numbers are assigned by Storey Wall and cannot be selected or reserved by customers.

Story numbers are for identification and display purposes only and do not represent an order of importance, ranking or value.

7. Publication

Stories may appear on the Storey Wall shortly after submission.

Storey Wall does not guarantee:

  • A particular position on the wall.
  • A particular visual position or arrangement.
  • That a story will remain in the same position indefinitely.
  • That the website or Storey Wall will always be available without interruption.

The Storey Wall may be updated, redesigned, rearranged or changed from time to time.

8. Removal of Content

We may remove, hide or refuse to display content where we reasonably believe that it:

  • Breaches these Terms.
  • Breaks the law.
  • Infringes another person's rights.
  • Creates a risk to Storey Wall, its users or another person.
  • Is inappropriate for the Storey Wall.
  • Has been submitted fraudulently or without the necessary permission.

Where appropriate, we may also remove content following a complaint or legal request.

Removal of content does not automatically entitle you to a refund.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

9. Payments

All prices displayed on the website are in British pounds sterling (£) unless otherwise stated.

Payment must be completed before your story submission can be processed.

Payments are processed through Shopify and its supported payment providers.

We do not store your full payment card details.

10. Refunds

Our refund arrangements are explained in our Return and Refund Policy.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or restrict any rights you may have under applicable UK consumer law.

11. Website Availability

We aim to keep Storey Wall available, but we cannot guarantee that the website will always be available or free from errors.

We may temporarily suspend or restrict access to the website for maintenance, updates, security reasons or other operational reasons.

12. Intellectual Property

The Storey Wall website, including its design, branding, graphics, logos, text, layout, software and other original materials, belongs to Storey Wall or the relevant rights holder.

You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify or commercially exploit our website or materials without permission, except where permitted by law.

You retain ownership of original stories that you submit, subject to the permission granted to Storey Wall under these Terms.

13. Third-Party Services

Storey Wall uses third-party services, including Shopify and other technology providers, to operate the website and process payments and submissions.

Those third parties may have their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the availability or operation of third-party websites or services outside our reasonable control.

14. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By using Storey Wall, you acknowledge that your information may be collected and processed as described in that policy.

15. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

To the extent permitted by law, Storey Wall will not be responsible for losses that could not reasonably have been expected to result from your use of the website or services.

We are not responsible for loss or damage resulting from events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
